Dr. Ali Irani is currently the Principal for NMIMS University as well as the Post Graduate Institute of Physiotherapy. Apart from heading the Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine Department & Rehabilitation Centre at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Dr. Ali Irani's a faculty for post graduate students at various universities.

Dr. Ali Irani is also a visiting faculty for physiotherapy colleges across the country and delivers lectures on a regular basis. He is a member on the Board of Studies at NMIMS University and also a member of the Academic Council at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. He is an examiner and lecturer for students of Masters of Fine Arts (Dance) at Bombay University. Having worked as a researcher at Bombay Hospital in 1985, Dr. Ali Irani is now a PhD guide for multiple universities in India.
